Dr. Stephen Dansiger has provided training, education, leadership, coaching and therapy for a diverse population for many years. Holding a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in Counseling Psychology, he has created and run groups at several top treatment facilities, as well as serving as a Primary Therapist. In his private practice, he specializes in all substance and behavioral addictions, as well as working with PTSD, Complex PTSD, depression, anxiety and other disorders. He is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and Consultant-In-Training, and uses EMDR extensively in his private practice. He has 20 years of experience as a Trainer, Educator, and Life Coach, working in every environment from pre-K through universities, corporations and government agencies. He has worked for almost 20 years with various populations on issues of Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, and Substance Abuse Prevention. His over 30-year career as a professional musician and writer gives him a special attunement to clients from the creative community.

He has been a practicing Zen Buddhist for over 20 years, including a year-long residence at a Zen monastery. He has led meditation groups for several years, and was trained and has served as an Interfaith Minister. He is now training with Noah Levine at Against the Stream to teach in the Vipassana tradition.

As a writer he was a regular contributor in the 90’s to one of the first online literary magazines, Word, and for Details Magazine. He is currently rewriting a memoir and working on three other book projects. As a musician he played his first show at CBGB at age 16 and has played on numerous recordings and toured nationally and internationally. He has been a regular guest on the multimillion download WTF with Marc Maron podcast, appearing as Dr. Steve and attempting to help Marc understand his problems and those of his listeners. He is very excited to be launching StartAgain as a digital media and publishing company, and is in preproduction on a documentary feature.

Dr. Don Grant is a Media Psychologist with a specialization in addiction and recovery.  He received his B.A. with honors from the University of Michigan, an MFA from the University of Southern California and both his MA and PhD with cum laude honors in Psychology (with an emphasis in Media Psychology) from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California.  In addition to his certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Don is also a Board Certified California teacher and a Nationally Certified Group Facilitator.  In 2002, Don created and implemented the Literacy in Treatment program, which offers adult clients in recovery the opportunity to earn their high school diploma.  He is the co-founder of an outpatient program he created, developed and recently launched designed to treat technology addiction and co-occurring disorders.

In addition to his role as Editor in Chief of StartAgainPublishing, Don provides professional consulting, writing and branding services to the mental health and addiction recovery community.  From 2001 through 2014 he worked in dual-diagnosis residential treatment, serving for the last three years as Executive Director of a program for women which he also created.  His writing, editing and production experience extends across all media platforms, including film, television and traditional literary.  On weekends, Don works with dually-diagnosed teens and young adults.  His media credits as an expert recovery professional include: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Good Morning San Diego, Fox News Networks, The Michael Jackson Radio Show, The Associated Press, Extra!, National College Radio, The Australian Radio Network, the TV Guide Network, KTLA, John Wells Productions and other local, national and international news and radio programs.  Don's print interview and author credits include:  The Los Angeles Times, The New York TimesThe Wall Street Journal, The Hollywood Reporter, Forbes, Us and People magazine.  Academic publications include The Sage Encyclopedia of Media Violence.

Don's past entrepreneurial success includes co-founder of a top national script production house, owner of an innovatively respected public relations company and managing partner of a clothing/image design firm catering to "A-List" entertainment celebrities.  He has also appeared in dozens of plays and musicals, written for episodic television and served as a photojournalist in the Middle East.

Don was the recipient of a 2012 international "Best of Show" prize for his addiction recovery research work.  His most recent research study exploring the potential influence of social media platforms on recovery efficacy is currently in pre-publication, with hopes of being published later this year.  Don is the father of two fantastic daughters, whom he considers both the loves of his life, as well as his greatest extravagances.
